Pregnancy with diabetes: The study of fetomaternal outcome in a tertiary care teaching centre in western India

To study the fetomaternal outcome in cases of pregnancy with diabetes and measures to combat consequences. A prospective observational was conducted a tertiary care centre 70 patients taken under study, being carried out period July-2020 June- 2021 at Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad. Increasing gravidity, age past history GDM found be one risk factor for such cases. 44% had polyhydramnios, 8% uteroplacental insufficiency there were 6%intrauterine deaths. 52 managed by Insulin, 10 oral antidiabetic agents remaining 8 manged alone dietary therapy. 48% underwent emergency caesarean section, 28% delivered normally required instrumental vaginal delivery. developed hypertension, also 6% macrosomia. Birth weight > 3.5 kg 32% incidence. Most neonates NICU 24 hours observation. Perinatal mortality observed 6 mellitus.
